Tracy Rose, MS, RN provides an array of injectable services such as Botox and Juvederm Fillers. These services can decrease and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and give your face a smoother, and more youthful appearance.

What can Botox correct?

Botox only works on lines/wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement. These are known as dynamic wrinkles, which are often called “expression lines.” The most common dynamic lines/wrinkles that Botox can treat are lines on the upper face, such as the “11” between the brows, horizontal lines on the forehead, and crow’s feet around the eyes. These lines are caused by smiling, frowning, squinting, and other facial expressions.

Repeated treatments are necessary for continued wrinkle-reducing effects. Most people find that the muscle-relaxing effect of Botox lasts for 3 to 4 months.

What can dermal fillers correct?

Different types of dermal fillers are designed to treat varying signs of aging. Depending on the filler selected, they may plump up thin lips, add volume to lips, corrects asymmetries, enhance or fill in shallow areas on the face, fill in or soften static wrinkles, especially on the lower face. These products can enhance a more youthful look, providing you with skin elasticity, firmness and hydration to the skin. The relaxation of the muscles at the facial trouble spot quiets the expression lines and reduces wrinkles

Key differences:

Botox: This freezes muscles to stop creases and wrinkles caused by facial expressions. These are typically found in the upper face, such as the forehead and around the eyes. Botox results last 3 to 4 months
Dermal fillers: These use hyaluronic acid and similar substances to “fill in” or plump areas that have lost volume and smoothness. This includes wrinkles around the mouth, thin lips, and cheeks that have lost fullness. Dermal filler results vary but can last from 9-24 months.

Because Botox and fillers are different substances designed for different uses, they can be used during the same appointment. For instance, someone may use Botox to correct lines between the eyes and a filler to correct smile lines around the mouth.

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) with PRP

By using the SkinPen as the supplemental delivery method and the PRP drops onto the skin, the two treatments work synergistically which leads to more rapid collagen production. This combo delivers maximum benefits for that collagen and elastin boost.

What if I don’t want to use PRP with the SkinPen?

You have the option to have the same treatment without PRP. You will still have the wonderful benefits of the therapy; the collagen and elastin will be produced but it just won’t have that boost that the PRP provides.
